2016 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials

Besides writing content for the class blog and freelancing for outlets such as Arizona Republic, Tampa Bay Times and DyeStat, I also live tweeted the event from both my personal account and the class account.

These are my top two favorite stories from the trials:

Aries Merritt will battle against upcoming juniors to make 3rd Olympic team after bout of injuries and kidney surgeries

Coburn makes second Olympic team; Quigley returns from injury to make her first

These two stood out to me because they represent the highlights of my reporting career: the first time my pitch was accepted by a professional outlet; the first time I asked for the microphone in a press conference. Every little milestone leads to something big.
